About the Role:

Vercel is hiring a Growth Marketing Manager laser focused on developing experiments, automated programs and campaigns targeting self-serve customers that drive activation, engagement, and expansion. By working closely with Product, DevRel, Product Marketing & Analytics you will empower customers with the resources they need to use Vercel successfully and expand their use through add-ons or upgrades.

In this role, your work has the power to shape our customers’ experience of Vercel. The ideal candidate is a data-driven marketer with a passion for developers that has experience executing across the entire customer lifecycle. You will report to Director of Growth and will be located in hybrid (San Francisco or New York City).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute always on lifecycle programs.

    Build Vercel’s core always-on lifecycle marketing engine across the self-serve customer journey: activation, engagement, and expansion. Then, optimize the customer lifecycle journey by developing a segmented targeting approach to improve & deepen customer relationships

  • Activate self-serve customers

    You’ll nurture self-serve customers to a point of activation, supported by a user experience to drive growth of lifetime value.

  • Accelerate value discovery.

    By developing a deep understanding of our audience, you'll focus on always giving them their ‘next best action’ in hopes of accelerating their product value discovery and increasing stickiness.

  • Build engagement that converts.

    Push our communications to the next level using data-driven decision making and creativity. You'll identify the most effective channel, marketing message, value proposition, materials, and call to action for specific personas and target segments.

  • Drive expansion revenue.

    Drive the cross-functional execution of optimizations that will drive greater expansion revenue and scale in the business. You'll do this by performing strategic product, market, and customer analyses to identify new growth drivers or opportunities for improvement

  • Test, optimize, repeat.

    Identify the highest-impact testing opportunities; prioritize, experiment, iterate, learn, and optimize constantly—whether with channels, messaging, positioning or personas.

What You Will Do:

  • Embed into a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, & analysts to improve the following metrics of the following segments: Sign Up to Activated Sign Up, Activated Sign Up to Trial, Trial to Paid, & more.

  • Drive ideation, strategy, and execution of coordinated and scaled lifecycle campaigns across multi-channel surfaces (such as email and in-product notifications) for key user segments

  • Work with PMM and Marketing Operations to craft email campaigns to these segments, build out all campaigns, launch, monitor & iterate

  • Set out measures of success, key metrics, and objectives for experiments and nurture campaigns, and oversee reporting and performance of initiatives to enable optimization

  • Dig into the data to see areas of opportunity or improvement for each segment

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across Growth Product, Data Science, Engineering, Analytics, Sales, Creative, and Operations

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing role designing, launching, analyzing, and taking action on the performance of marketing campaigns in the dev tools space

  • Demonstrated success working with product, engineering, and growth teams

  • Deep understanding of marketing funnels and user journeys; you care about conversions and UX

  • Strong email marketing experience, the ability to learn new technologies, products, or systems quickly

  • Excellent project management skills; you pride yourself on keeping the trains running when collaborating cross-functionally

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally across technical and non-technical teams

  • Excellent writer and communicator, can succinctly explain concepts in plain language

  • Comfort using data analysis tools such as Heap & Preset

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $146,00.00 - $204,000.00.  This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be  adjusted based on employee location.  The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
