About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Community Manager to help build and grow our Vercel community, providing an entirely new space for education, collaboration, and interaction with a wide variety of customers and Vercelians.

You will find yourself in an incredibly varied role, splitting your time between the implementation and improvement of our community platform offering, working directly with customers to help them find success through best practices, and partnering with Vercelians to develop and deliver engaging educational material and experiences for our community members.

What You Will Do:

  • Work remotely focusing solely on providing the most exceptional customer community experiences.

  • Unify our Vercel communities into a single offering that delivers greater value to the customer.

  • Implement and iterate on our new community platform, devising and adding new functionality over time.

  • Ensure the community experience is representative of the quality and values found within the Vercel platform itself.

  • Interact directly with our community members, helping them find success and build confidence in their Vercel usage.

  • Work with other Vercelians to develop engaging educational material that helps customers learn best practices when using Vercel.

  • Partner with other Vercelians to create a wide variety of live, interactive community events, Q&As, and learning sessions.

  • Develop trust with our community members by representing their insights and concerns to our Product team and delivering meaningful solutions.

  • Identify and approach the community members who would find value in working closer with us as community moderators.

About You:

  • You have a proven track record of creating, nurturing, and growing tech communities.

  • You are willing to iterate quickly and push the boundaries of what an exceptional experience can be.

  • You are an experienced technical writer, comfortable learning new concepts and distilling them simply to users.

  • You enjoy working with and have experience of the technologies Vercel provides.

  • You possess exceptional public-facing communication skills and maintain this under pressure at all times.

  • You are curious and enjoy navigating ambiguity through research and collaboration.

  • You enjoy working with a fully remote, globally distributed team.

  • You desire to deliver value and education within the community, beyond solving problems.

  • 5+ years experience building and growing exceptional customer communities.

Bonus If You:

  • Have experience creating content in a video format.

  • Have experience working within a community focused around developer tools.

  • Have had exposure to an assortment of site generation tools and platforms.

  • Have experience supporting backend runtime environments, especially Node.js.

  • Have experience with CDNs and a good understanding of caching techniques.

  • Work with monorepos and/or custom, complex CI/CD pipelines.

  • Thoroughly understand DNS and can explain this clearly to others.

  • Are fluent in another language.

The San Francisco, CA pay range for this role is $133,000.00 - $186,000.00. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your location during the hiring process.
