Sales Engineers play a key role in our Sales process - partnering with 'Rest of World' Account Execs to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles with a focus on value-based selling. We are looking for someone who can combine excellent technical knowledge with sales skills; identifying and uncovering a customer's current needs, exploring and validating potential solutions, then justifying the project's benefits and viability.

Requires strong skills in Next.js along with a broad understanding of modern web development approaches and best practices, and the ability to run and manage PoCs,  respond to Security Questionnaires and provide technical support for RFPs. Fantastic communication and presentation skills are also crucial, along with the ability quickly build a rapport, develop strong relationships and become a trusted advisor.

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the sales team, prospects and customers throughout the entire sales cycle

  • Provide expertise in Vercel's platform, solutions and services and how they can be applied to solve business needs

  • Develop and present demonstrations of the Vercel solutions.

  • Manage and run PoCs, guiding measures of success and towards meaningful outcomes

  • Respond to Security Documents, coordinating with other internal specialist teams.

  • Respond to RFPs and other required formal written responses for sales opportunities

  • Serve as an interface to Product and Engineering teams, representing Voice of Customer

Key skills and experience:

  • Sales aptitude and experience

  • Great communication and presentation skills

  • The ability to establish to rapidly establish a rapport, and to become trusted advisor

  • Be able to weave together discussions around business benefits, strategic value, and technical efficacy

  • Strong technical skills, ideally from development experience or previous pre-sales experience

  • Strong f/e skills, ideally including Next.js, React and other current frameworks

  • Broad understanding of modern web development approaches and best practice

  • Awareness of the broader technical ecosystems, including Headless CMS, Media, payments, eCommerce etc.

  • The ability to envision, create and develop custom demo's

The preferred location for the role will be in EMEA, but it will include supporting 'Rest of World' opportunities, including EMEA & APAC.
