About the Role:

Vercel is seeking a Director of Academy to define and develop Vercel Academy, providing educational resources and certifications to help customers, partners, and employees effectively use our platform. This role involves creating and delivering tailored syllabi and course content for various levels of expertise, ensuring that the educational material supports successful platform usage and showcases user capabilities in the marketplace.

To excel, you must be a strong communicator with the technical skills to create and record educational content. Your work will significantly impact post-sales support, Enterprise customer journeys, and onboarding processes. A background in frontend development, experience in technical writing, and a passion for resolving complex issues are ideal. You will play a key role in enhancing our reputation for exceptional customer enablement throughout their entire journey with Vercel.

What You Will Do:

  • Work with customers, partners and employees to determine the optimal education strategy to best enable our users on essential Vercel capabilities 

  • Develop syllabi and content that deliver key product and best practices knowledge that enable users to successfully design and deploy solutions in Vercel

  • Create learning paths for advanced education on Vercel and Next.js, including certification levels.

  • Provide training sessions to Enterprise customers.

  • Know the Vercel platform and Next.js framework inside and out.

  • Develop close partnerships with the CSM team to understand customers’ goals and educational needs.

  • Work with engineering and product teams to convey product gaps and needs.

  • Improve existing, and identify new, internal documentation, processes and policies.

  • Continuously maintain and update existing educational materials to reflect current product capabilities.

About You:

  • You have experience defining and building an enablement curriculum for a SaaS platform company

  • You have built and rolled out a certification program at a SaaS platform company before

  • You lead by example and develop more junior members of the team.

  • You possess exceptional communication skills.

  • Unrivaled sense of autonomy, ownership, and comfort with a fast-paced startup.

  • You are comfortable working with a fully remote, globally distributed team.

  • You have a passion to deliver a customer experience second to none.

Bonus If You:

  • Have experience using Next.js.

  • Have experience supporting backend runtime environments, especially Node.js.

  • Have experience with CDNs and an understanding of caching techniques.

  • Work with monorepos and/or custom, complex CI/CD pipelines.

  • Understand DNS and can explain this clearly to others.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $230,000 - $280,000 OTE. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your location during the hiring process.
