Alamy, a 20-year-old premium stock photography company, transformed its digital commerce business by adopting composable technologies. The MACH Impact Awards recognised the project's effective transition from monolith to modern technology. 

IONA delivered a headless CMS that enabled merchandising and personalisation across the purchase journey. They also created flexibility and capability in product structure using commercetools. The ability to easily manage pricing updates and create new pricing models has resulted in a 20% uplift in web conversion and a 5% increase in Average Order Value. The project also saw a 12% uplift in revenue from seamless customer experience.

IONA helped HMD Global create a strategy and concept for their new ecommerce platform and direct-to-consumer business. BigCommerce was chosen as the ecommerce platform, while the front end was built with Contentful, which is a composable API-based content management system. 

For HMD, switching to BigCommerce brought two major benefits: a more seamless customer experience and the ability to integrate with its existing systems easily. "The platform's flexibility with the multiple add-ons and the marketplace applications also allowed us to expand into other channels and integrate multiple payment gateway options”, said Jenni Schneider, Director Of Sales And Marketing Capabilities at HMD.

IONA helped VR FleetCare, a Finnish rail maintenance provider with over 150 years of experience, expand internationally with a refreshed product strategy. 

With a net turnover of 200 million, VR FleetCare (FleetCare) is a heritage train maintenance company and a subsidiary of the Finnish Railway company VR. IONA's refreshed product strategy and sales process helped FleetCare better communicate the value of the SmartCare service. 

The new positioning and convincing sales materials brought robustness to their sales pitches. Most importantly, it helped them secure their first international deal in the SmartCare range.
