About Vercel:

Vercel gives developers the tools and cloud infrastructure to build, scale, and secure a faster, more personalized web. As the team behind v0, Next.js, and AI SDK, Vercel helps customers like Ramp, Supreme, PayPal, and Under Armour build for the AI-native web.

Our mission is to enable the world to ship the best products. That starts with creating a place where everyone can do their best work. Whether you're building on our platform, supporting our customers, or shaping our story: You can just ship things.

About the Role:

Bring Vercel’s brand to life through motion. As a Motion Designer on the Creative team, you’ll shape how our story moves, across product launches, campaigns, events, social, and beyond. You’ll define the rhythm, pacing, and energy of a brand trusted by the most ambitious builders in the world. From kinetic typography to 3D animations, from UI demos to event openers, you’ll design motion that feels effortless, intentional, and distinctly Vercel.

This is a high visibility role for someone who sweats the details, understands the nuance of timing and transitions, and can push creative ideas from concept through final render. You thrive in a fast moving environment where the bar is high and the creative runway is wide open.

You’re a tinkerer, a storyteller, a creative explorer. You use motion to clarify, not complicate. You experiment with new tools (including AI), prototype quickly, and iterate until every frame feels sharp.

We move quickly. The bar is high. The work ships.

If you’re based within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices (SF, NY, London, or Berlin), the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead motion design for key brand moments: product launches, campaigns, events, social content, and videos

  • Collaborate with engineers, product designers, and brand designers to craft seamless interactive experiences

  • Drive projects from concept to completion, independently managing timelines and deliverables while staying collaborative across disciplines

  • Translate static designs into dynamic motion that enhances clarity and storytelling

  • Prototype with AI, emerging tools, and new workflows to improve speed, quality, and creative range

  • Develop motion guidelines and systems to keep the brand consistent while leaving room for creativity

  • Give and receive thoughtful critique, helping raise the bar for motion across the team

About You:

  • 4+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or visual storytelling, ideally in SaaS, developer tools, or high growth tech

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual taste, craft, and mastery of motion principles (timing, easing, transitions, typography, and sound sync)

  • Skilled in modern motion and 3D tools such as Spline, Rive, Lottie, with enthusiasm for AI assisted workflows and prototyping tools

  • Comfortable designing across formats: product demos, short form social, event graphics, and narrative driven brand videos

  • Deep understanding of layout, typography, and how motion enhances clarity, not just spectacle

  • Collaborative and clear communicator with a low ego, high standards mindset

  • Thrives in fast paced environments where ambiguity is the norm and experimentation is encouraged

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.

  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.

  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.

  • Flexible Time Off.

  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $156,000-$234,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location, and the total package includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
