About the role:

Vercel is looking for a User Policy Senior Manager to join our Trust & Safety team. You will report to the Director of Safety and will be located in US, EU, or remote.

In this role, you will get to work with small but mighty Trust & Safety, Legal, and Abuse Operations teams at Vercel to level up our policy, operations, escalations, incident management, terms of service, documentation, and user-facing T&S resources. Getting started:

What you will do:

  • Modernize our current internal trust & safety policies, workflows, and implementation to match Vercel’s current and future needs.

  • Run Trust & Safety’s policy escalations program to solve edge cases and create answers to new questions (from the Abuse Operations team and in general).

  • Represent Trust & Safety in company-wide incidents & escalations and create coverage (with the rest of the Trust & Safety team).

  • Pair with the T&S team and the Abuse Operations team to implement policy in Abuse Operations workflows to industry-best levels; training and workflow evaluation.

  • Build out Vercel’s external acceptable use policy and user-facing documentation.

  • As needed, be able to represent Vercel in external Trust & Safety communications

About you:

  • 2+ years of experience in policy or user policy management (researching, writing, and implementing change) at a webhosting-based business

  • 2+ years in incident management and policy escalations

  • Experience with user restriction systems and setting, tracking, and using KPIs to understand and optimize policy/operations outcomes

  • Experience working with an Abuse Operations team

  • Understands current and upcoming regulatory systems that apply to Trust & Safety work

Bonus if you have:

Experience in risk mitigation, conflict resolution, or product policy; understanding of geo-politics related to trust & safety issues; familiarity with SQL and creating SQL queries; experience with production ML systems, ticketing systems, and ticket labelling; experience with elections/misinformation.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $200,000.00 - $225,000.00.  This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location.  The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
